Learn to Walk Before You Run…

We hear all the time that people should run more, because it is so beneficial for weight loss, bone density and cardiovascular health.  The problem is that running is really hard!  Lots of people try it and end up quitting because they set off too fast and burn themselves out, only to rule it out as a “no go” activity.

Walking is a great alternative to running, offering the same cardiovascular health benefits and weight loss opportunities.  The best thing is, you don’t need any equipment to do it!  Literally lace up your shoes and you can go.  We recommend walking for at least 30 minutes every day for optimum health – more if you can.  Why not start off with a gentle walk after dinner each day, just round the local area until you build up your strength to tackle further distances and tougher terrain.
