How to Keep a Weight Loss Diary
A weight loss diary or journal can be a powerful tool in our weight loss mission. Success at weight loss is often about small and manageable changes, compared to drastic differences, so keeping a simple diary can be a great way to achieve success.
If you are unable to remember what you ate last Monday, or how many calories you ate on Thursday, you may benefit from keeping a diary. Keeping a journal of what we eat, how much we eat, when we ate it and how we felt is a good way to become more aware of what we are putting into our bodies. How are you supposed to get the right balance of calories in vs. calories out if you have no clue what you are taking in?
Your diary doesn’t need to be complex, simply make a note of what food you eat, roughly how much you ate and the time you ate it. This can help you to recognise patterns in your behaviour, as well as make you more aware of your diet.
