Cardio for Fitness

It is important that we do enough exercise each day, as exercise is so good for different aspects of our health.  Cardio exercise is any movement which allows your heart to beat faster and for you to become a little out of breath.  When we perform cardio exercise, we increase our heart’s capacity for pumping blood round our bodies, we strengthen our lungs and build muscles, as well as burning off extra calories to prevent us from gaining weight.

Examples of cardio exercise include things like walking, running, jogging, cycling and skating, or less well known things like dancing, gardening and housework!  These chores can easily become an aerobic workout if you alter your moves to be more energetic!
